SEVEN DAYS WALKING is the title of Ludovico Einaudi's new album, released on March 15, 2019, three and a half years after Elements and a triumphant world tour. Although the instrumentation on the album is for piano, violin, viola and cello, this collection has been arranged for solo piano.
SEVEN DAYS WALKING is divided into seven episodes, seven days (Day One, Day Two, etc. until Day Seven). This first edition contains the music of Day One, the first day.
These are indeed 7 albums that Ludovico Einaudi offers to discover at the rate of one per month.
Einaudi says that inspiration for the whole project came to her during winter walks in the mountains: In January of last year, I often took long walks in the mountains following more or less the same way. One day it was snowing heavily, and I gave free rein to my mind in this storm in which all contours, exposed by the cold, lost their contours and their colors. It was perhaps this feeling of extreme originality that initiated this album .
