Astor Piazzolla

Astor Piazzolla was born March 11, 1921 in Mar Del Plata (Argentina), he began his musical studies in New York where he will remain 13 years. In 1946 he will form his own orchestra with which he will cross the two American continents by obtaining several awards of interpretation and composition and two successes with: • Preparense • Pigmalion In 1953 he won the Prix de Montevideo for: • Contrabajeando In 1954, the French Government gives him a scholarship to study in Paris with Nadia Boulanger. At the end of this internship, Astor Piazzolla composes a series of works that will become classics of dance such as: • Chau Paris • Gypsy Tango • ... His composition ADIOS NONINO, written in New York and dedicated to his father , at the time of its disappearance, will remain the most beautiful work of this composer, and the most recorded, in the world, with interpretations whose duration varies between 3 and 30 minutes.
