Romanzen opus 36 and opus 67

Camille Saint-Saëns wrote his two Romances for horn for the attention of two of the most famous horn players of his time: opus 67 in E major (1866) is dedicated to Henri Chaussier, opus 36 in F major (1874) to Henri Garigue. Despite the illustrious dedications, these are not pieces of bravery, but - as their title suggests - small "romances without words", wonderfully illustrating the typical sounds of the romantic horn. In addition to the horn and orchestra version, Saint-Saëns also wrote a chamber version for horn and piano. Not understanding too great technical difficulties, these romances may already be suitable for advanced students.
