Percussion 1: Bass drum, 2 bongos, 1 wood block Percussion 2: Bass drum, 2 toms, 5 temple blocks, 1 japanese rin
This work is, in a way, the memory of the author, percussion in Japan, these great drums called taiko that can be heard during the omatsuri, these famous Japanese folk festivals.
In addition to the taïko represented mainly by the bass drums, we can hear the Japanese bowl (rin) and wooden instruments (mokusho and mokugyo), specific instruments of the ancestral religions represented by the wood-blocks. The most energetic moments are punctuated by cries like kakegoe.
It is a light, festive, energetic piece that demands a total physical commitment from the performers.
