Each of the songs on David Bowie Blackstar's final album were arranged for Piano, Vocals and Guitar , with full lyrics and chord boxes. The album was released just two days before Bowie's demise, and was hailed by critics and the public as one of his greatest albums. He made his music take new directions once again as he had done all his life.

The album was a real surprise for many fans, notably the first single Blackstar and its Jazz twists. The second single Lazarus was illustrated by a video by a video clip released the day before the album. Blackstar was No. 1 in sales in many countries in January 2016. It was also the first album of David Bowie's entire career to reach first place on the Billboard 200 in the United States.
