SCHUMANN ROBERT - Einfach, innig op. 94,2 SCHUMANN ROBERT - Nicht schnell op. 94,1 SCHUMANN ROBERT - Nicht schnell op. 94,3
In 1849, Schumann donated chamber music works to three wind instruments: the clarinet with the "Three Pieces of Fantasy" op. 73, the horn with the "Adagio et Allegro" op. 70 as well as the oboe with the famous "Trois romances" op. 94 presented here. However, the latter were marketed in his time also accompanied by solo parts for clarinet and violin. Clarinetists will certainly be delighted that Henle editions have taken up this idea of alternative instrumentation. Gifted by Robert to his wife Clara in 1849 as a Christmas present, the manuscript has not been preserved. On the other hand, handwritten sketches could be used for the preparation of this urtext edition and make it possible to correct certain errors from the first edition of 1851.
