This method for young students is for young instrumentalists of both systems. We will find there the tablatures of the basic fingerings of the French and German systems. The first lessons begin with measures of silence, allowing a work on breathing. The student can, during the first four-step empty measure, count the first three times aloud (he empties himself) and inspires on the fourth beat. For various reasons, some teachers prefer to start with the note f, others with the note mi: this is why this alternative is proposed in this method, with the lessons 1 and 2. For the sake of clarity, the part of the 'pupil in the duets is always written in the first voice, even if it has a role of accompaniment. The second voice is played either by the teacher, or by a more advanced student, or by the student himself if he is able to play both voices (see the instructions at the beginning of each duet).
