This Dixit, which was to open the Marian Vespers, may also have been written for Sunday vespers, but the existence in Turin of an Introduzione al Dixit autograph, alluding to the ascent of Mary Queen, proves in any case an execution of this Dixit RV 595 at the celebration of a Marian feast, most likely the Assumption, but it could also have been sung for the Visitation, major celebration at the Ospedale della Pietà. We must finally notice the kinship of style and inspiration that characterizes these various sacred compositions written in the years 1713-1715: the two Gloria, the Creed, the Nisi Dominus and the first Laudate pueri.
