Vocals Of Today

The creation of a teaching tool bringing together several aspects of the vocal repertoire of today's music is the primary motivation of this collection. Bringing together several generations of composers, these Vocals of today trace a journey that is both initiatory and modestly historical, from a repertoire called contemporary music or, more recently, today's music. Posterity may call it otherwise, given the distance it may have on a musical journey as rich as it is differentiated. In the pieces gathered here, the exercise of the sung voice, through various sound climates, mixes with different forms of parlato, which, from the recitar cantando to the Sprechgesang of a Viennese rap, cross the many vocal repertoires, all styles confused, and encourage the search for varied and bold programs.
