On the occasion of the 200th anniversary of Robert Schumann's birth in 2010, an ambitious publishing project was conceived: for the first time after Clara Schumann's edition of Schumann's complete works in 1879–93, all of the works for solo piano are published in the same edition. During almost ten years of meticulous work, all of Schumann's titles already published by Éditions G. Henle have been subjected to a detailed revision. Ernst Herttrich, Schumann specialist, had passed each edition on the test bench, also devoting himself to works hitherto absent from our catalog. The present collection comprising six volumes is available in paperback or bound version and in the “Studien-Edition” series in a box set. Explicitly classified according to opus numbers, this publication not only brings together all of Schumann's piano works in line with current research, but it also contains informative accompanying texts, alternative versions and many more.
