Perhaps the most famous piano piece in postromantism, also in Henle-Urtext quality! First published in 1892, as part of the cycle for piano op. 3 entitled “Morceaux de Fantaisie”, the play also quickly became famous abroad, above all thanks to the tours of pianist Alexander Siloti, Rachmaninov's cousin. Rachmaninov soon could no longer give a single concert in America without the public shouting at the end "C sharp minor!" … The resounding final agreements are legendary, even if their reputation for being unplayable is somewhat overrated.
