Admittedly, we would like to attribute to the “English Suites” a later composition date than to the “French Suites” (HN 71), but that would be to forget that “the flow full of temperament and sometimes virtuoso of the English Suites corresponds better to the language musical of the young Bach ”(extract from our preface). The almost kaleidoscopic diversity of the six “English” suites is so prodigious that a whole life would not be enough to extract the substantial marrow. With our score, we nevertheless offer a solid basis, presented in various forms: the complete volume, softcover (HN100) or bound (HN101), an edition in two volumes (HN 102, NOS 1-3- HN 103, NOS 4 -6) and finally, a study score with the same text but at a more affordable price.
