For any music lover, this famous sonata in C minor is better known as "Great Pathetic Sonata". The name is exceptionally Beethoven himself, so each pianist will have to strive to give back the pathos
of this extraordinary work. Beethoven composed his "Pathétique" between 1797 and 1799 and dedicated it to his admirer and patron, Prince Karl von Lichnowsky. Our Urtext edition, one of the greatest successes of the house, is not based on the composer's autograph manuscript, unfortunately lost, but on the first edition of the work, published in 1799.
