The imposing musical personality of Georg Friedrich Haendel appears not only in great forms such as opera, oratorio or orchestral suite, but also in his keyboard compositions. At the heart of these, the "Eight suites" of his first printed collection published in 1720. These are not standardized dance suites, quite the contrary. In fact, they are mainly made up of free construction movements of great artistic value, sovereignly inserted between lighter dance movements. Haendel's suites each testify to their individuality and deserve to be heard more often in our concert halls. For this urtext edition, we were able to benefit from the precious collaboration of Haendel specialist Anthony Hicks.
