Fantasiestücke für Klavier and Klarinette oder Violine oder Violoncello

It is difficult to believe in what environment these "Soiréestücke" (this is the original title) were born: in 1849, Dresden is affected by serious political unrest, which finally forced Schumann and Clara to take refuge in the countryside. None of this is reflected in the music, the idyllic nature of these three movements evoking rather the desire for harmony and peace of privacy. The Fantasiestücke are originally written for the clarinet, but the first edition is accompanied by a choice of violin and cello parts.
