Piotr Ilich Tchaikovsky was born in Russia in 1840.
After studying law, he studied composition with Anton Rubinstein and began a career as a composer at the age of 23.
Thanks to the generosity and support of her most ardent admirer, Mrs. von Meck, he will compose many works and triumph on the European and American stages.
He died at 53 years old.
Steeped in Western influences (Bellini, Schumann, Mendelssohn, Liszt), his music will influence several generations of Russian composers.
