Group Pedagogy in Musical Instrument Classes

What are the pedagogical and didactic conditions that make it possible to think of instrumental group pedagogy? How is musical knowledge constructed in individual situations and in small group situations in the context of instrumental teaching? What is the place of the teacher and students in this construction of musical knowledge?

This book proposes a study of "group pedagogy" according to historical, epistemological and didactic perspectives of instrumental teaching-learning situations. Group work makes students active in their learning processes by setting up and managing verbal and non-verbal interactions. They lead to individual learning through collaboration and the confrontation of ideas. The small group courses thus enrich the methodological choices of instrument teachers and contribute to the diversification of instrumental teaching situations. This book is built in a close link between practice and research, which seems to us fundamental to the evolution of specialized artistic education.

Karina Cobo Dorado est titulaire d'un D.E. de clarinette, d'un master en Sciences de l'éducation et d'un doctorat en Musicologie, mention Didactique musicale. Elle est actuellement chargée de cours de pédagogie fondamentale à l'université Toulouse Jean-Jaurès et au CNSMD de Paris. Elle enseigne la clarinette dans le cadre de la Fonction publique territoriale.
